Job description

Aston Carter's large client is seeking a Collections Manager to join their team! This individual will be responsible to oversee and optimize the accounts receivable processes, managing outstanding debts, implementing effective collection strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement collection strategies to minimize outstanding debts and improve cash flow.
  • Oversee the collections team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely follow-ups on overdue payments.
  • Conduct risk assessments on clients and establish credit policies to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers while maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry-specific regulations related to debt collection.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and sales teams to resolve disputes and improve collection efficiency.
  • Prepare and present reports on collection activities, trends, and financial performance.
  • Implement technology solutions to streamline collection processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Manage write-offs and recommend strategies for handling uncollectible debts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in collections management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, credit policies, and debt recovery strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and develop actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have:

  • Allegro or Great Plains software experience
  • JD Edwards experience
  • GetPaid experience
  • Oil and gas industry experience
  • Previous experience dealing with traders

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
