Job Description: Food and Beverage Service at Courtyard Marriott Montreal

The Courtyard Marriott, located in the heart of Montreal near the Palais des congrès, offers 212 spacious rooms, conference facilities, an indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center, restaurant, lounge bar, and coffee counter. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Food and Beverage Service Attendant.

Main Tasks

1. Participate in the preparation of the service area.
2. Welcome customers and provide attentive, high-quality service.
3. Assist with table cleaning and clearing.
4. Present the menu, make suggestions, and answer customer questions about food and beverages.
5. Advise customers and highlight featured products.
6. Prepare and serve coffee, food, and drinks.
7. Maintain cleanliness of the work area in accordance with MAPAQ regulations.
8. Handle sales of food, beverages, and coffee, and process transactions at the cash register.
9. Stock the counter and prepare the workspace, including opening the cash register and familiarizing with current promotions.
10. Serve customers, guide them, and provide product information to ensure satisfaction.
11. Process payments via cash, credit card, or debit and reconcile sales at the end of shifts.
12. Close the cash register, generate reports, and make deposits.
13. Perform any other tasks necessary for the efficient operation of the service counter.

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in fast food or as a barista is an asset
• Ability to operate a coffee machine and cash register
• Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoyment of working with the public
• Responsibility, punctuality, courtesy, and politeness
• Bilingual in French and English; proficiency in both languages is required
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends
