The successful candidate will support regulated projects across nuclear, defence, industrial, and other high‑reliability sectors, providing practical, code‑based solutions and technical leadership. Experience with nuclear codes and standards is considered a definite asset. This is a client‑facing position requiring strong technical expertise, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate across multi‑disciplinary teams.

Your role

  • Prepare and review code reports, fire and life safety strategies, technical memoranda, and design narratives.
  • Review drawings and specifications for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide construction‑phase support, including site reviews, field inspections, and deficiency resolution related to fire‑stopping and life safety features.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and project management teams to resolve code‑related issues.
  • Interface with clients, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and third‑party reviewers.
  • Support business development and represent the fire protection discipline internally and externally.
  • For senior‑level candidates: provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes, technical tools, and best practices.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) or eligibility for licensure is an asset.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering or code consulting. UL Solutions Integrated System Testing Certification (CAN/ULC‑S1001) is an asset. Experience producing clear, well‑structured technical reports with minimal supervision.
