We are currently seeking a skilled individual, who enjoys working with their hands, to join our team in the role of Coatings Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for applying coatings to our products using specialized equipment and techniques. You will work closely with our production and quality assurance teams to ensure the accurate application of coatings, adherence to specifications, and the achievement of exceptional surface finishes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces and substrates for coating application, ensuring proper cleaning and surface preparation.
  • Set up and operate coating equipment, including spray guns, electrostatic guns, and dip tanks.
  • Mix and adjust coating materials, including paints, resins, and additives, according to established formulas.
  • Apply coatings to products following established techniques and specifications.
  • Ensure even coverage, thickness, and consistency of coatings for uniform and visually appealing finishes.
  • Monitor and adjust coating parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and drying times, as required.

Quality Control And Inspection

  • Perform visual inspections of coated products to identify any defects, inconsistencies, or imperfections.
  • Conduct quality checks and measurements to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Implement corrective actions for coating-related issues to achieve desired quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve coating-related quality concerns.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of coating processes, parameters, and inspection results.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with various coating materials, paints, resins, and additives.
  • Previous experience as a Coating Technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in coating application techniques, such as spraying, dipping, or electrostatic coating is an asset.
  • Understanding of surface preparation techniques, masking, and curing processes.
  • Ability to interpret and follow coating specifications, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities related to coating application and quality control.

Hours Of Work

Full-time Evening Shift: Monday - Friday; 3:00PM - 11:00PM
