Job summary

CIHI Toronto is offering a Co-op Student (Masters) in Digital Solutions for Winter 2027. You will support operational activities, review business requirements and help test cases within health data projects.

Currently enrolled in a graduate program in eHealth, health informatics or data science, with proficiency in MS Office and data manipulation. Familiarity with Python/PySpark, Qlik Sense and JIRA is an asset. This role emphasizes teamwork and learning.

Why is this role important?

CIHI is reimagining how to present data and information on our website to improve user experience and, at the same time, optimize our internal processes and leverage new technology to improve timeliness of deployment, operational efficiency and achieve cost savings. The Digital Solutions team is responsible for leading various projects to achieve and operationalize this vision. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in various aspects to help advance and support the modernization of CIHI’s reporting and data management platforms.

What you'll do
  1. Support operational activities for products developed through the Digital Solutions project work.
  2. Reviewing and analysing business requirements.
  3. Support the development of test cases with traceability to acceptance criteria and requirements.
  4. Perform User Acceptance Testing to ensure functional requirements are met.
  5. Assist with the preparation materials for stakeholder communication and engagement activities.
  6. Participate in project and department meetings.
  7. Support other activities across the Digital Solutions branch as required.
What you'll bring to the table
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program such as eHealth, health informatics, data science or related discipline.
  • Proficiency with standard word processing, spreadsheet, database, and communications software (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in manipulating and interpreting data, preferably clinical and/or other health care data
  • Experience in Python/PySpark, Qlik Sense and/or JIRA an asset.
