Job summary

MNP is seeking a Co-op Student, Forensics, in Edmonton to support fraud investigations and litigation‑related work for eight months starting January 2027. You will assist with economic loss analyses, trace funds, and contribute to expert reports while engaging with clients and internal teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration, professional development, and exposure to a variety of disciplines within forensics and advisory services.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting major is preferred).
  • Working towards prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
  • Previous accounting related office experience is considered an asset
  • Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Execute client engagements assisting fraud investigations, litigation support, risk assessments and other specialized proceedings or regulatory inquiries for a wide variety of clients, industries and disputes
  • Calculate and analyze economic loss claims, provide commercial advice, prepare financials and trace funds/accounts
  • Analyze financial data and participate in the development of independent expert financial reports and financial models
  • Assist with the development of project plans and coordinate project logistics with clients and other stakeholders
  • Provide industry and technical expertise through client interactions, research and analysis, reports, technical work, management presentations, proposals and other high-quality deliverables
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop
  • Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals
  • Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Make an impact with our Forensics & Litigation Support team in the Edmonton Region as a Co-op Student for eight (8) months starting in January 2027. This diverse team of professionals combines accounting and investigative expertise to protect clients’ assets and reputation. As a trusted advisor, you’ll implement anti-fraud controls and resolve fraud emergencies, reducing clients’ exposure to criminal and civil wrongdoing.
