Job summary

MNP is seeking a Co-op Student for eight months in the Forensics & Litigation Support team in the Edmonton region, starting January 2027. The role blends accounting and investigative work to protect clients’ assets and reputation, with exposure to anti-fraud controls and fraud response strategies.

Qualifications

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting major preferred).

• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist fraud investigations, litigation support, risk assessments and regulatory inquiries for diverse clients and disputes.
• Calculate and analyze economic loss claims, prepare financials and trace funds or accounts.
• Assist in developing independent expert financial reports and financial models.

Make an impact with our Forensics & Litigation Support team in the Edmonton Region as a Co-op Student for eight (8) months starting in January 2027. This diverse team of professionals combines accounting and investigative expertise to protect clients' assets and reputation. As a trusted advisor, you'll implement anti-fraud controls and resolve fraud emergencies, reducing clients' exposure to criminal and civil wrongdoing.

Responsibilities

• Execute client engagements assisting fraud investigations, litigation support, risk assessments and other specialized proceedings or regulatory inquiries for a wide variety of clients, industries and disputes
• Calculate and analyze economic loss claims, provide commercial advice, prepare financials and trace funds/accounts
• Analyze financial data and participate in the development of independent expert financial reports and financial models
• Assist with the development of project plans and coordinate project logistics with clients and other stakeholders
• Provide industry and technical expertise through client interactions, research and analysis, reports, technical work, management presentations, proposals and other high-quality deliverables
• Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop
• Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
• Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills And Experience

• Working towards a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting major is preferred)
• Working towards prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)
• Previous accounting related office experience is considered an asset
• Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset
