About the team
The Distributed Data Storage and Management Lab leads research in distributed data systems, aiming to develop next-generation cloud serverless products that encompass core infrastructure and databases. This lab addresses various data challenges, including cloud-native disaggregated databases, pay-by-query user models, and optimizing low-level data transfers via RDMA. Teams within this lab create advanced cloud serverless data infrastructure and implement cutting-edge networking technologies for Huawei's global AI infrastructure.
About the job
- Research competitive landscape for data processing and serverless infrastructure in cloud. Work with a team of architects and engineers
- Work with team of architects and engineers to develop framework/engine for the next-generation data and AI system.
- Analyze user scenarios resulting in optimized software system solution.
- Learn and adopt new technologies (parallel, distributed systems, large-scale data analytics system, etc.), research, survey, and present industry trends to the team.
- Generate innovative ideas and new patent applications.
About the ideal candidate
- Proficient in C and C++ programming.
- Experience working with teams and products to generate business impact and customer success stories.
- Design/technical skills including; data structures, multi-threading, concurrency, performance optimizations, etc.
- Experience with any of the following is an asset: AI end to end data processing, scenarios and system optimizations, core database internals (e.g., query optimization, runtime, scheduling, storage engine, transaction processing, etc.), large scale data processing (e.g., Flink, Spark, etc.), scalable key-value store (e.g., RocksDB, LevelDB, Redis, etc.), and serverless platform infrastructures.
- Strong problem solving and ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
- In pursuit of BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications.
