What Is the Opportunity?

We aim to become Canada's #1 utility construction provider, and we're looking for a Project Coordinator, Co-op to help us get there! Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Coordinator, Co-op will support various operational aspects to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable work execution. This position is part of Aecon’s partnership with Six Nations within the Ohsweken community. Co-op contract starting September 2025, 8-12 months duration.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Assist in the efficient scheduling of work crews.
- Assist in inventory management and related systems development.
- Coordinate and procure specialty materials and tooling.
- Manage small/specialty tool inventory, maintenance, and certification.
- Maintain the worker Training Matrix specific to the area.
- Onboard new employees, ensuring proper training before work begins.
- Develop an understanding of budgets, cost reports, and revenue forecasts at the project level.
- Handle time entry, travel booking, and weekly scheduling of field personnel.
- Ensure safety inspections and reporting comply with Aecon Health & Safety and Environmental Manual.
- Review and track Quality Assurance non-conformances and ensure proper training and follow-up.
- Maintain organized and safe materials and equipment.
- Process vendor paperwork and validate received materials.
- Maintain accurate billing records.
- Analyze data from various systems to improve operations.
- Generate reports for major customers as needed.
- Facilitate rush deliveries of materials and tooling to crews.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Second- or third-year student in Civil Engineering, Technologist, or Construction Management programs.
- Construction industry experience is a plus.
- Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
- Flexible work schedule availability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
