Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton LLP is seeking a Co-op, Privately Held Business Group, in Halifax to develop client relationships and deliver accounting services. You will work closely with clients on financial issues, supporting engagements from planning to financial statement drafting, payroll, and HST calculations.

Candidates should be pursuing a post-secondary degree and actively working toward the CPA designation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a post-secondary degree with demonstrated academic excellence.
• Committed to pursuing CPA designation and completing prerequisites.
• Experience with client service and accounting workflows is a plus.

As a Co-op, Privately Held Business Group [TERM] some of your responsibilities will include:

• Developing deep client relationships by working closely with clients and providing exceptional client service


• Providing solutions to our clients on current business and financial issues


• Building our reputation as the preferred business advisors in our growing practice


• Working with clients across different industries and sectors


• Providing accounting services, including planning and executing review and compilation engagement, drafting of financial statements, financial analysis, bookkeeping and assistance with payroll and HST calculations


• Completion of personal and corporate tax returns and responding to related CRA requests for information
