Job summary

BDO Canada LLP in Ottawa is seeking Co-op students or Interns to join the Financial Reporting & Insights team starting January 2027 or May 2027. You will prepare financial statements for Notice to Reader and Review engagements and build client-facing working files for tax returns for diverse clients.

You will collaborate with team members, communicate progress, and support other accounting functions as needed while pursuing CPA training with pre-approved programs and mentorship offered by BDO.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree/diploma in accounting.
• Interest in long-term growth within Financial Reporting & Insights.
• Experience or certifications with QuickBooks, Xero, and/or Sage are a plus.
• Value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Your Opportunity Start Date: January 2027 OR May 2027. Our offices in the Ottawa Region are looking for Co-op students or Interns to join the Financial Reporting & Insights team. This is a new role and the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:

• Efficiently prepare financial statements for Notice to Reader and Review engagement
• Prepare working files for income tax and information returns for a variety of client sizes
• Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
• Completion of ongoing accounting analysis and assignments following established procedures
• Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
• Assisting other departments when needed with various Accounting functions

Your experience and education

• You are currently working towards a degree/diploma, focused in accounting
• You are interested in long term growth within the Financial Reporting & Insights team
• You may have experience or certifications with Quickbooks, Xero and/or Sage

• You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

Salary range: $48,000–$52,000 per year
