Job summary

Kinaxis is offering an Intern Business Analyst role in Ottawa, Canada. The position supports needs assessments, technology selection, and process improvements within the IT Applications Excellence team.

You will partner with internal stakeholders to understand objectives and design scalable tech solutions, with emphasis on enterprise applications like Salesforce. The role is hybrid, based in the Ottawa office, with a start in May or June 2026 and a 8-12 month term.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a relevant program (Software Eng, IS, BTM, Engineering).
  • Interest in business systems, software delivery, and tech-enabled transformation.
  • Experience or exposure to low-code/no-code platforms (Salesforce or similar).
  • Able to thrive in fast-paced environments with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand processes and translate requirements into scalable tech solutions.
  • Assist with administration and support of enterprise applications including Salesforce.
  • Support day-to-day ticket operations by triaging incidents and requests.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, testing, and validation activities.
  • Assist in configuring, testing, and deploying low-code solutions and automation.
  • Create and maintain documentation, user guides, and training materials.

About the team

As part of the IT Application Excellence team, the Intern Business Analyst is responsible for supporting wide range of activities related to needs assessments, technology selection, managing technology implementation and process improvement projects, and supporting business systems.

The Intern Business Analyst will proactively partner with Kinaxis internal stakeholders and IT Business Partners to understand the business objectives, operating model and processes. Through this business knowledge, you will work with other team members to identify areas where efficiency and productivity could be improved using business process improvements and technology solutions. Essential responsibilities include supporting relationships, communications, business process development, improvement and analysis, data analysis, requirements gathering and definition, solution configuration, project coordination, documentation and training.

Location

This is a hybrid position. You must be in the Ottawa office, at least three days a week.

Term Duration

This is a full-time 8, or 12-month position, with an immediate start in May or early June 2026.

Compensation range

$19.46 - $28.55 hourly rate. The final offer within this range will reflect the candidate’s skills, year of education, and experience.

Co-op / Intern Eligibility

This position is open to co-ops and interns. To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in full-time education or be a recent/upcoming graduate within 12 months of the placement end date.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with business stakeholders, developers, administrators, and solution architects to understand business processes and translate requirements into scalable technology solutions.
  • Assist with the administration and support of enterprise applications including Salesforce and other go-to-market business-critical platforms.
  • Support day-to-day ticket operations by triaging and resolving incidents, service requests, enhancements, and user inquiries.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, business process analysis, impact assessments, testing, and solution validation activities.
  • Assist in the configuration, testing, and deployment of low-code solutions and automation initiatives.
  • Create and maintain application documentation, knowledge articles, user guides, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with Agile delivery teams by participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, and release activities.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions with stakeholders to gather feedback and document action items.
  • Help identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and optimize business processes across the organization.
  • Provide user support, troubleshooting, and training for enterprise applications.
  • Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Business Technology Management, Engineering, or a related program.
  • Strong interest in business systems, software delivery, enterprise applications, and technology-enabled business transformation.
  • Experience working with or learning low-code/no-code platforms such as Salesforce or similar technologies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure development and support environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document requirements, processes, and findings.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self‑motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies and business processes.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, user story management, testing, or software development lifecycle concepts is an asset.

Strong Assets

  • Salesforce experience (Administration, Automations, Reports, Dashboards, Security, or Development).
  • Salesforce Trailhead badges, Superbadges, or certifications.
  • Experience working in a software development, application support, or IT delivery team.
  • Experience release management processes.
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in a corporate environment.
