Job summary

CIMA+ in Saskatchewan is seeking a Civil Technologist Co-op Student to contribute to field surveys, inspections and CAD drawing production across water/wastewater, municipal and land development projects. You will learn in a mentoring environment where accountability, autonomy and trust are encouraged.

You will participate in multidisciplinary projects of varying sizes, with opportunities to work in the office and in the field.

Qualifications

• Student in Civil Engineering Technologies program.
• Completed second year of the program.
• Available for 12 to 16 months.
• Willing to work full-time in office when not in the field in Saskatchewan.
• Valid 5 driver’s license.
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to engineers and project managers on field surveys and inspections.
• Carry out design and drafting tasks under supervision of engineers and experienced technologists.
• Assist in all phases of a project including studies, condition assessments, preliminary and detailed designs, procurement, construction administration, commissioning and warranty services

Mission

As our Civil Technologist Co-op Student, you will be involved in field surveys, inspections and computer-aided design and drawing production in water/wastewater, municipal and land development fields. You will have the opportunity to develop and participate in a variety of multidisciplinary projects of all sizes, in a mentoring environment where accountability, autonomy and trust are strongly encouraged.

Your responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to engineers and project managers on various projects in the form of field surveys and inspections

• Carry out design and drafting tasks under the supervision of engineers and experienced technologists
• Assist in all phases of a project including studies, condition assessments, preliminary designs, detailed designs, procurement, construction administration, commissioning and warranty services

Your profile

• Student in Civil Engineering Technologies program

• Completed second year of the program
• Available for a 12 to 16 months term
• Able to work in CIMA’s Office full time when not in the field
• Availability to work on the road at project sites within Saskatchewan from time to time

• Valid 5 driver’s license

• Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of Civil 3D
• Perseverance, punctuality and reliability
