Job summary

RVA in Niagara Region, ON, is seeking a co-op Engineering Student to join the Transportation team for Winter 2027 at our Niagara Office.

The role involves assisting with pre-engineering surveys, design of roads, sewers, and traffic analysis, with exposure to AutoCAD and MicroStation. Current Civil Engineering enrollment is required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited university or college.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation/AutoTURN is an asset.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Superior English communication skills both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-engineering site surveys and inspection during construction.
• Design of roads, rail, sewers, watermains and municipal infrastructure projects.
• Help prepare AutoCAD and MicroStation design drawings.
• Provides office support during the construction stage of projects.
• Assist with quantity calculations and preparing tender documents.
• Collation of Traffic data and background information.
• Conduct site visits.
• Assist in traffic analysis.
• Conduct AutoTURN analysis and creation of report exhibits.
• Assist project team in preparing memorandum/report.

Duties:

• Assist in pre-engineering site surveys and inspection during the construction.

Qualifications:

• Must be currently enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited university or college.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation/AutoTURN is an asset.
• Must have a valid G Class Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Superior English communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to work in an interactive team atmosphere.
• Knowledge about traffic analysis as a part of traffic impact studies.

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is: $25-$30/hour

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
