Job summary

General Motors Canada seeks a Co-Op Engineer in the Data Engineering group to develop software pipelines that configure vehicle data recording systems, spanning Control and Data planes. You will work across engineering teams with a solid software foundation and a data-driven mindset.

The role is a hybrid Co-op for 8 or 12 months starting January 2027, with reporting to Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) or Oshawa Elevation Centre (OEC) at least three times weekly.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a co-op program and eligible to work in Canada.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or CS field.
• Ability to work full-time for 8 or 12 months starting January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain configuration files for vehicle data control and data planes.
• Design and maintain software pipelines to verify data integrity.
• Build tools to ingest, cross-check, and release configuration files.
• Create workflows for automated verification of configuration parameters.
• Maintain records of parameters, boundaries, and impacts.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps for vehicle data software parameters.
• Analyze vehicle data logs to identify discrepancies and optimize performance.
