Huawei Canada has an immediate 8/12/16-month Co-op opening for an Assistant Researcher.

About the team:

Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company's products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory, and Autonomous driving.

About the job:

  • Dig deep into a fun Autonomous Driving topic, becoming a subject matter expert and driving innovation.

  • Utilize computer vision and generative AI techniques to track, reconstruct, and synthesize real-world images from vehicle sensor platforms.

  • Collaborate closely with our other researchers, exchanging knowledge and expertise to drive impactful discoveries in Autonomous Driving.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members, including regular attendance and participation in meetings and working groups.


About the ideal candidate:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent coding skills with Python and/or C++

  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch and Tensorflow

  • Familiarity with Linux

  • Solid understanding of core concepts, including linear algebra, probability theory, optimization, computer vision, and machine learning

  • Experience in one or more focus areas: Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Robotics, State Estimation

  • Hands-on experience with real-world robotic platforms is an asset
