This opportunity is for a Co-op term, beginning May 2026 until August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in areas such as : compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax
• Develop and apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and / or ASPE
• Set up files for new clients and businesses, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset transactions, and payroll walkthroughs with clients
• Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, income statements, and reports
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets, and liabilities
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports
• Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries
• Prepare reports and presentations on engagement findings
• Collaborate with the team and build client relationships
• Contribute to process improvements using internal systems
• Maintain flexibility to travel as needed

Skills and Experience

• Completion of, or working towards, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance preferred)
• Prerequisites for CPA PEP upon employment
• Accounting office experience is an asset
• Customer service experience is an asset
• Experience with accounting / tax software is an asset
