This opportunity is for a Co-op term, beginning May 2026 until August 2026.

Responsibilities

1. Develop technical skills in areas such as: compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax
2. Develop and apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and/or ASPE
3. Set up files for new clients and businesses, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts
4. Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset transactions, and payroll walkthroughs with clients
5. Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, income statements, and reports
6. Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets, and liabilities
7. Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports
8. Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries
9. Prepare reports and presentations on engagement findings
10. Collaborate with the team and build client relationships
11. Contribute to process improvements using internal systems
12. Maintain flexibility to travel as needed

Skills and Experience

1. Completion of, or working towards, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance preferred)
2. Prerequisites for CPA PEP upon employment
3. Accounting office experience is an asset
4. Customer service experience is an asset
5. Experience with accounting/tax software is an asset
