Qualifications

This opportunity is for a Co-op term, beginning January 2026 until April 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical skills in areas such as compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
  • Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and / or ASPE.
  • Set up files for new clients and businesses, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts.
  • Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset transactions, and payroll walkthroughs with clients.
  • Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other reports.
  • Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, and other financial data.
  • Review, investigate, and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
  • Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, summaries, and presentations for engagement findings.
  • Collaborate with the engagement team and build client relationships.
  • Contribute to process improvements using MNP systems.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel as needed.

Skills and Experience

  • Completion of, or working towards, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, preferably with an accounting or finance major.
  • Working towards CPA PEP prerequisites.
  • Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
  • Customer or client service experience is an asset.
  • Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.
