Job summary

Kellow Recruiting is assisting a Canadian manufacturer in Durham Region with a CNC Team Lead role. This hands-on leadership position requires setting up and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machinery and guiding a skilled shop floor team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience setting up and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Experience in custom, high-mix, low-volume machining.
• Ability to mentor other machinists on the floor.
• Strong tooling, fixturing, offsets, feeds and speeds knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across CNC machines.
• Train and support less experienced employees.
• Set and meet craftsmanship, productivity, safety standards.
• Share knowledge to elevate the team's capability.
• Communicate progress between CNC floor, CAM and management.
• Lead by example by staying hands-on on the shop floor.
• Setup and operate 3/5 axis CNC centres with fixtures and offsets.
• Interpret drawings, inspect tolerances, verify quality.
