Job summary

Orlick Industries in Ontario, Canada, seeks a CNC Lead Hand to support the CNC operator in producing high-quality aluminum components. The role involves setting up machines, adjusting tooling, and ensuring safety/quality standards are met.

You will collaborate with supervisors, QA, and maintenance to keep production on track and meet stringent specifications. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years CNC machining experience.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong machining skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints/mechanical drawings.
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

  • Startup machines following required instructions.
  • Perform safety checks per Orlick Work Instructions.
  • Compare production parts to blueprints.
  • Set up CNC machines as required by Supervisor.
  • Correct machining deficiencies to meet quality standards.
  • Adjust tooling as required by the process.
  • Complete downtime logs and startup sheets.
  • Log work orders daily to ensure functionality of machines.
  • Submit sample parts to QA lab and log them into the system as required; work with QA to understand potential problems with the machining of parts and take corrective action.
  • Assist the CNC Shift Supervisor as required. In the absence of the shift supervisor, must assume responsibility for the shift.
  • Communicate and work effectively with work-team members and other members of the company.
