Job summary

Johnson Electric in Stratford, ON is seeking a CNC Setter Operator Co-op to support our production team. This onsite student co-op role involves setting up CNC machines, loading/unloading parts, and ensuring quality while learning in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

The position offers hands-on experience with CNC machining, exposure to 5S and lean manufacturing, and a pathway to a future career within Johnson Electric.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a CNC Machining or related Manufacturing program.
• Basic knowledge of machining principles and CNC equipment.
• Understanding of CNC controls and programming fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines and install/remove tooling, chucks, collets, and adapters.
• Load and unload parts while maintaining production targets and quality standards.
• Monitor machine performance, make size adjustments, and index cutting inserts as required.
• Collect and chart SPC data according to process specifications.
• Follow all Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within the department.
