As a CNC Setter /Operator, you will machine components for production. Successful candidates will monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes and adjusting and/or reprogramming control while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. We are seeking an individual with high level experience that has the ability to grow into a senior/lead role.
Job Duties:
Produce parts using CNC Mills and Lathes that conform to engineering blueprints
Prepare CNC programs and set-up machine
Support machine setup and operation personnel
Emphasis is placed on a continuous process of improvement
Able to adjust offsets and code, if needed, to produce accurate parts
Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
Identify all quality issues on machined parts and rectify issues
Assist with 6S initiatives
Create programs for machines
Willingness to operate an overhead crane and forklift
Ability to train and coach new hires
Any other duties as assigned by the Machining Supervisor or Senior Executive teams
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 year degree in machining, preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience as a setter/machinist in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Cam software
Knowledge of G & M Codes
Must be able to work in a Team environment
Able to work in a fast-paced production environment
Experience with HAAS CNC mills and lathes nice to have
Ability to machine all types of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless and plastics)
Must be able to read precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, depth gages)
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
Must have good communication skills
Must have good math skills
Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed
Leadership skills would be an asset as this position may have the potential to grow into a senior/lead position
