BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (BWXT NEC) is committed to excellence in all business initiatives. With nearly 500 employees across Peterborough, Toronto, and Arnprior, BWXT NEC supplies nuclear fuel, fuel channel components, services, equipment, and parts for the CANDU® nuclear power industry.

Position: CNC Set Up

We are seeking a CNC Set Up Technician for our Arnprior team. The candidate must be willing to travel to the Brampton site for the first 4-5 weeks.

Responsibilities:

1. Study drawings to plan sequences for maximum efficiency.
2. Set up CNC lathes with a wide range of tools, involving very close tolerances.
3. Complete shop documentation as required.
4. Follow all company policies and attendance guidelines.
5. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• 5-10 years of experience in a high-tolerance machining environment.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work 8-hour rotating shifts.
• Proficiency in programming and operating CAD/CAM systems (e.g., Mastercam).
• Knowledge of CNC code, specifically Fanuc controllers.
• Understanding of technical terminology and developments.

Additional Information:

Selected applicants will undergo testing and interviews. The starting hourly pay range in Ontario is expected to be $36.71 to $40.79, based on experience and qualifications. Compensation may include additional benefits and incentives.
