Job description

With nearly 500 employees across Peterborough, Toronto, and Arnprior, BWXT NEC supplies nuclear fuel, fuel channel components, services, equipment, and parts for the CANDU® nuclear power industry.

CNC Set Up

We are currently seeking a CNC Set Up for our Arnprior team. The candidate must be willing to travel to the Brampton site for the first 4-5 weeks.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  1. Study drawings to plan sequences of steps for maximum efficiency.
  2. Set up using a wide range of tools and perform setups on CNC lathes involving very close tolerances.
  3. Complete shop documentation as required.
  4. Follow all company policies and attendance guidelines.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Minimum of Grade 12 education.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in a high-tolerance machining environment.
  3. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  4. Ability to work 8-hour rotating shifts.
  5. Proficiency in programming and operating CAD/CAM systems (Mastercam).
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of CNC code (Fanuc controllers).
  7. Understanding of technical terminology and developments.

Selected applicants will be tested and interviewed.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $36.71 and $40.79. The final offer will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and market considerations. The total compensation package may include additional elements such as an annual cash incentive, medical, retirement, and other benefits. Details will be provided upon job offer.
