Job Title: CNC Programmer – Laser Cutting & Forming

Location: St. Thomas

Duration: Permanent, Full-time

Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer specializing in Laser Cutting & Forming. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and operating manufacturing equipment, with a focus on laser programming. Responsibilities

1. Develop and optimize CNC laser cutting and forming programs for materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
2. Use CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Bysoft) to create and modify cutting and bending plans for Bystronic machines, ensuring efficient material usage.
3. Analyze drawings and 3D models to produce accurate programs for CNC operations.
4. Set up and operate CNC laser cutting and forming machines, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and conducting test and production runs.
5. Monitor processes to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.
6. Maintain knowledge of current CNC laser cutting and forming technologies, machine capabilities, and industry best practices.
7. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues with lasers and forming equipment.
8. Collaborate with planning, engineering, and production teams to review project requirements and suggest improvements for productivity and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in CAD/CAM programming.
• Experience with Laser, Press Brake, and CNC machines.
• Proficiency in Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Bysoft CAD software.
• Experience with Epicor ERP system is a strong asset.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
