Position: CNC Programmer

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6+ month contract to hire

Responsibilities:

1. Create and maintain complex CNC programs for various machines.
2. Translate methods data into programs for multiple spindles and operations.
3. Act as liaison to ensure uninterrupted workflow and material supply.
4. Train and support machine shop personnel.
5. Program complex machined parts and optimize for accuracy and efficiency.
6. Prepare instruction sheets, maintain records, and reference materials.
7. Create programs, setup sheets, and tooling diagrams.
8. Select cutting tools and fixturing based on industry standards.
9. Support engineering with manufacturability assessments.
10. Participate in continuous improvement processes.
11. Maintain communication with machine operators.
12. Verify programs and setup sheets before production.
13. Ensure safety and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of programming experience, with at least 7 years in a machine shop.
• Experience with full set-ups, program edits, and tight tolerances (+/- .0002").
• Expertise in Virtual Gibbs, Feature CAM, and PartMaker systems.
• Proficient in machine shop math, including trigonometry.
• Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and material removal.
• Training in GD&T.
• Leadership and troubleshooting skills for CNC machining.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
