Job summary

Argus Machine Co. is seeking multiple full-time CNC Machinists based in Edmonton/Nisku, AB, with day and night shifts available. The role focuses on interpreting drawings, programming and operating CNC machines, and ensuring on-time production of high-precision parts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Interpret production orders, part specifications, material grades, and technical drawings.
  • Read and analyze blueprints and schematics to guide machining processes.
  • Program, set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to meet customer specifications.
  • Adjust machine programs during production runs to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Manufacture routine and complex parts from raw materials with precision.
  • Use measuring tools, gauges, and controls to ensure product accuracy and compliance.
  • Follow work orders and production sequences.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and pallet jacks to move materials and finished products.
  • Plan and prioritize workloads to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain CNC machines and keep a clean, organized work area.
  • Complete production documentation and route finished products appropriately.
  • Record production data including time, quantities, and operations in system terminals.

Job description

Argus is looking formultiple full-time CNC Machinistsbased inNisku, AB, for both day and night schedules. Day shift is Monday - Friday, 7:15AM-4:00PM, and night shift is Monday - Thursday, from 4:00PM-2:00AM.

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, this role operates CNC machines safely and efficiently, ensuring products are manufactured accurately and orders are completed on time.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interpreting production orders, part specifications, material grades, and technical drawings
  • Reading and analyzing blueprints and schematics to guide machining processes
  • Programming, setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to meet customer specifications
  • Adjusting machine programs during production runs to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Manufacturing routine and complex parts from raw materials with precision
  • Using measuring tools, gauges, and controls to ensure product accuracy and compliance
  • Following work order instructions and understanding production sequences
  • Safely operating overhead cranes and pallet jacks to move materials and finished products
  • Planning and prioritizing workloads to meet production deadlines
  • Maintaining CNC machines and ensuring a clean and organized work area
  • Completing production documentation and routing finished products appropriately
  • Recording production data, including time, quantities, and operations in system terminals
About You

To qualify, you will need aminimum of 2+ years of CNC machining experienceand the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. A background in machine shop environments, particularly with lathe experience, will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Journeyman Machinist ticket (equivalent experience considered)
  • General knowledge of products and services within the oil and gas industry
  • Understanding of safe work practices, quality assurance standards, and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience operating measuring tools, gauges, and shop equipment
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as overhead cranes and pallet jacks
