Lynden Door Canada is seeking a CNC programmer and operator to join our team at our Yarrow, BC location.

If you have experience in CNC operation, setup, running, and first part QC in the wood products industry (preferred), as well as programming with WoodWop and Homag CNC experience, we would like to hear from you.

The role involves operating a CNC (HOMAG) wood router, using pre-made templates, and other woodworking equipment to manufacture doors and millwork.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines for tasks such as drilling, boring, trimming, and milling.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using WoodWOP software, translating instructions into machine commands.
  • Complete manufacturing orders efficiently, maintaining productivity goals.
  • Set up machines, load tools and raw materials, and prepare for production runs.
  • Conduct test runs, inspect parts for quality, and ensure outputs meet specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings during production to improve results; troubleshoot and perform maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of programs, tooling, and production data.
  • Report on production performance, quality control, and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members and train or guide other operators in programming and operation.

Requirements and skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; engineering or relevant discipline certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a CNC operator, preferably in the wood products industry.
  • Completion of WoodWop CNC100 certification.
  • Skill in operating CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and documents.
  • Computer literacy, including programming and CAD/CAM understanding.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills, including imperial measurements to 1/32 of an inch.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Ability to stand for entire shifts.
  • Good communication skills.
