Lynden Door Canada is seeking a CNC programmer and operator for our Yarrow, BC location.

If you have experience in CNC operation, setup, running, and first part quality control in the wood products industry (preferred), along with programming skills using WoodWop and Homag CNC machines, we encourage you to apply.

The role involves operating a CNC (HOMAG) wood router, utilizing pre-made templates, and managing other woodworking equipment to produce doors and millwork.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines for tasks such as drilling, boring, trimming, and milling.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using WoodWOP software, translating instructions into machine commands.
  • Complete manufacturing orders efficiently, maintaining productivity goals.
  • Set up machines, load tools, programs, raw materials, and parts.
  • Conduct test runs and inspect parts with precision measuring tools to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Manage production runs, making adjustments for optimal results, troubleshooting, and performing maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed records of programs, tooling, and production activities.
  • Report on production performance, quality control, and suggest improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with team members and train or guide other operators in programming and operation.

Requirements and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; engineering or relevant discipline certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a CNC operator, preferably in the wood products industry.
  • Completion of WoodWOP CNC100 training.
  • Skillful in operating CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Computer literacy, including programming and CAD/CAM understanding.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong math skills, with proficiency in imperial measurements to 1/32 of an inch.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for an entire shift.
  • Good communication skills.
