You will set up our CNC milling machines and run them to produce precision components that meet tight tolerances and customer specifications. Each job comes to you with its drawing and program, and you take it through setup, first-article inspection, and finished parts.
Setup is the core of this role. Most of our jobs are one-offs and short runs, so the machines change over often and you will do that work yourself: mount the workholding, load and touch off the tools, set the offsets, and machine a first piece to prove out the program. You check that piece against the drawing and fine-tune the offsets before running the rest.
Our work is a steady mix of prototypes, one-offs, tooling, and short production runs in aluminum, stainless steel, and tool steels. You will work closely with the owner-engineer and the design team on workholding and setup, and you will be trusted to see each job through to finished parts.
