Job description

NOV – Nisku Manufacturing is currently seeking to join our dynamic team as a CNC Machinist. NOV is dedicated to expanding our CNC machining capacity and capability through continuous investment.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Read blueprints, diagrams, measurement tools, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
2. Perform precise measurements to ensure components meet specified tolerances and surface finishes.
3. Set up and operate CNC machines to optimize material and equipment use.
4. Operate and handle materials and tools safely.
5. Report any environmental, health, and safety issues.
6. Assist in training other employees.
7. Maintain a clean work area and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times.
8. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

1. Up to 1 year of experience in setup and operation of CNC lathes and/or mills.
2. Takisawa machine experience preferred.
3. Ability to carry out setups, perform first-off inspections, and modify programs to optimize processes and meet quality standards.
4. Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
5. Strong mathematical and numerical skills, with proficiency in using inspection and measurement equipment.
6. Experience machining small batches of precision components from engineered metals such as steels, stainless steel, and titanium within tight tolerances.

HSE (Health, Safety, Environment):

1. Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, fumes, and standing for extended periods; capable of lifting up to 35 lbs unassisted.
2. This position is safety-sensitive and requires passing a pre-employment physical and drug & alcohol test.
