CNC Machinist Sales and Application Specialist

Job Summary

Kennametal is seeking talented machinists and programmers looking to transition their career into a professional sales role. If you have hands-on machining and CNC programming experience, we are interested in speaking with you! This role involves driving metal-cutting tool sales growth with customers by managing relationships, providing technical support, and increasing productivity. It combines technical knowledge and sales skills to achieve targets, build territory presence, and support customer initiatives. The role is based from a home office but involves 80% or more time in the field at customer locations, with minimal overnight travel. A company vehicle, competitive salary with bonus, and benefits from day one are included.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Meet or exceed revenue targets by providing metal cutting solutions and understanding market trends.
  2. Manage sales leads, prospects, and customer accounts.
  3. Handle the complete sales process from prospecting to negotiations.
  4. Develop and execute territory plans to meet revenue goals.
  5. Provide technical and commercial support to customers.
  6. Maintain customer and project records in CRM.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  8. Conduct product demonstrations and workshops.
  9. Represent Kennametal at industry events.
  10. Analyze application needs and recommend tooling solutions.
  11. Prepare and present sales reports.
Requirements
  • Technical degree or related in Business, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years in CNC machining industry; 1-2 years in sales or applications preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Proficient in product applications and troubleshooting.
  • Strong industry knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Ability to execute strategic sales plans and meet targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and administrative skills.
  • Customer-focused with problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and creative thinker.
  • Team player capable of cross-department collaboration.
