Job summary

STRIVE is seeking an Experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join a well-established manufacturing organization in Ontario. The role focuses on programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines in a hands-on production shop environment producing conveyor components for bulk material handling.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience, with FANUC and MAPPS controller familiarity and the ability to read technical drawings and tolerances.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience programming, setup and operation of CNC equipment.
• Strong reading of technical drawings and machining specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC machines.
• Work with FANUC and MAPPS controllers.
• Operate conventional mills and lathes.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and machining requirements.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensure dimensions remain within required tolerances.
• Perform machine inspections and basic maintenance as required.
• Safely lift and handle large parts and stock materials.
• Coordinate with other operators and departments to maintain an efficient workflow.

THE ROLE

STRIVE is working with a well-established manufacturing organization seeking an Experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their team.

You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines while ensuring components are produced accurately and within required tolerances. This is a hands-on production shop environment supporting the manufacturing of medium- to heavy-duty conveyor components for the bulk material handling industry. The ideal candidate is an experienced machinist with strong attention to detail who is comfortable working with CNC and conventional equipment.

• Experience with Doosan, Naka-Tome, or Mori Seiki equipment is an asset
• Ability to operate conventional mills and lathes
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality requirements
• Ability to use common precision measuring tools
• Ability to safely handle large parts and materials
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
