CNC Machinist (Lathe or Mill) – Afternoon Shift

Location – Mississauga, ON
Your Role Within The Team
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Perform programming, set-up, and machining, using Manual and CNC Lathe or Milling machine.
- Complete the machining process from start to finish – including programming, 100% independently.
- Knowledge of Fanuc and Mazak controls.
- MasterCam (or other Cad/Cam software) knowledge a definite asset on lathe, mandatory for milling applicants.
- Wire EDM programming and setup a definite asset.
- Proficient ability to read drawings and accurately machine close-tolerance parts often within 0.0005” tolerance.
- Efficiently and safely use machines; keep tooling, machines, and work areas clean and organized.
- Work with minimal to no supervision.
- Be accountable to machine shop supervisor and/or job leader as applicable.
- Work according to quality procedures.
- Work in a safe manner and follow jurisdictional safety rules.
- Be available to work planned overtime when/if needed.

The Ideal Candidate
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
- Completed a general machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent.
- Proficient in reading drawings.
- Experience with CAD/CAM Software (strong MasterCam experience is a definite asset).
- Completed a CNC training program.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Able to pass certification requirements for operation of overhead cranes.
- Must be willing to be designated as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
