Job summary

Halliwell Consulting Corp, Windsor, ON, seeks an experienced CNC Machinist for setup and operation of 3- and 5-axis CNC machine tools. The role requires strong measurement skills and precision work with tools and gages. Pay rate is negotiable based on experience, with full-time employment in Windsor.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, verifying tolerances, and updating CAM programs as directed. Candidates should have at least 5 years of CNC experience and fabrication knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Custom fabrication experience required.
• Knowledge of GD&T is an asset.

Job description

Our client, located in Windsor, ON, has an immediate opportunity:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setup and operation of 3 and 5 axis CNC machine tools.

Pay Rate: $negotiable – depends on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Study drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and the sequence of machining operations using knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, and the methodology and procedures of machining.
• Verify conformance of the detail to specifications by using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, micrometers, Vernier, and fixed gauges.
• Must have own tools, Micrometer up to 3", Interapid indicator, dial indicator, 6", Vernier, Telescope gages, adjustable wrench, Allen wrench set Metric/standard, machinist Stone, indicating chair, edge finder.
• Recognize the functions of the specific Controller capabilities program parameters to load, evaluate and run a specific program.
• Input additions, deletions and changes to the machining program as instructed by the CAM department.
• Decide and ensure assigned functions can be completed on specific machines.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 5 years’ experience for the wage mentioned above
• Custom Fabrication experience a must.
• Knowledge of GD&T an asset.
