Job summary

Macfab Manufacturing Inc. in Mississauga is seeking experienced CNC machinists to set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical milling machines on the Afternoon Shift (Mon-Thu, 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.).

The role requires reading blueprints, GD&T, tool changes, and maintaining safety and quality. Candidates with Fanuc or Haas control experience, Mastercam familiarity, and aerospace or job‑shop background are preferred. Certificate or college training is an asset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in CNC machining, junior or senior levels.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T drawings to tolerance.
• Training or qualification in CNC machining is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
• Use tools, fixtures and indicators to set up the machine and load programs.
• Change and modify cutting tools, adjust feeds and speeds.
• Deburr, inspect parts and verify dimensions per drawings.
• Read blueprints and understand GD&T requirements.
• Maintain safety and quality throughout the process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Positions and Shifts:

Afternoon Shift: Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC vertical milling machines.
• Use appropriate tools, fixtures and indicators to set up the machine.
• Load, unload, change and modify programs as required.
• Change and set cutting tools.
• Modify and grind tools as required.
• Adjust feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
• Operate the machine with all safety precautions in place.
• Deburr and prepare parts for loading and after unloading.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure dimensions are within tolerance.
• Read and interpret blue prints.
• Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• 3+ years' experience required for junior positions.
• 10+ years' experience required for senior positions.
• Certificate of qualification, college degree or other training in CNC machining an asset.
• Fanuc or Haas experience a must.
• Familiarity with Mastercam preferred.
• Previous aerospace experience preferred.
• Previous job shop experience preferred.
