Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a CNC Machine Programmer/Operator to join our Barrie, ON facility. You will be responsible for programming and operating CNC machinery, ensuring adherence to cost control, safety, and quality standards while meeting production schedules.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of CNC programming experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a track record in a fast-paced production environment. This is a full-time, on-site role in Barrie with competitive pay.

  • 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of CNC Programming experience necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time deliveries.
  • Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines, lathes, horizontal boring machines; read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machines to ensure quality of production.
  • Toubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance to maintain production flow.
  • Visually or mechanically inspect parts for defects and ensure output meets production schedules and quality standards.

Job Overview

We are looking for an individual to join the team as a CNC Machine Programmer/Operator. This person will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time deliveries. This person will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency as well as ensure output meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, and meet customer needs. The best person for this position will have experience in a similar environment and have the ability to execute corporate objectives and troubleshooting problems effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on time deliveries
  • Ensure output meets production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining, adjust machine, controls and control media within required capabilities to ensure quality of production. Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machines or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
  • Ensure proper use of PPE at all times
  • Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain production flow
  • Running Honing Machines (Makino and Mori machines)
  • Visually or mechanically inspect parts for defects (cracks, chips, dimension, surface finish) as part of in-process inspection; records result and notifies lead supervisor of deviation as appropriate
  • Comfortable to use the following for measuring and inspection; various types of micrometers, calipers, height gauge, thread gauge and other tools
  • Required to perform some simple machine preventative maintenance functions (ie. Checking coolants, lubricants and changing filters)
  • Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines, lathes, horizontal boring machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
  • Minimum 2 years of CNC Programming experience necessary
