Join Our Team as a CNC Lathe Machinist

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a CNC Lathe Machinist to join our talented Tool & Gage team in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

If you are passionate about machining precise components for innovative tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages, this opportunity is for you. This challenging and rewarding position involves collaborating with skilled machinists and toolmakers to deliver high-quality results for our customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Blueprint and schematic review : Analyze blueprints and schematic drawings to determine machining processes, dimensions, and assembly procedures using your knowledge of tool design, shop mathematics, and machining methodologies.
  • Machining Operations : Set up, program, and operate the CNC lathe machine.
  • Verification and conformance : Check the conformance of machined parts using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, height gauges, micrometers, and gauge blocks to ensure dimensional accuracy, clearances, and alignment.
  • CNC Programming and Control Systems : Recognize the functions of the specific controller capabilities, program parameters to load, evaluate, and run a specific program.
  • Post Machining Detailing : After machining, de-burr and finish details by filing, tapping, grinding, or scraping.
  • Machine Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools to ensure optimal performance.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience : 5+ years of Lathe experience.
  • Qualifications : Completed apprenticeship and certification as a machinist is an asset.
  • Technical Skills :

Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Strong safety focus with attention to detail for precise machining
  • Knowledge of G-code, M-code, as well as GD&T principles
  • Previous experience using a Mori controller
  • Teamwork : Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility : Ability to adapt work hours to accommodate production timelines when necessary.
  • Work Authorization : Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
