Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Prepare etching solution and immerse metal parts or workpiece into the etching solution to remove unwanted portions. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. Equipment and machinery experience: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Area of work experience: Fabrication. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Reliability. Ability to multitask. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
