Overview
CNC/CMM (computer numerically controlled coordinate measuring machine) programmer – On site, St. Catharines, ON.
Employment type: Permanent, Full time. Starts as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Inspect processes
- Set machine or equipment controls
- Collect and analyze data and samples
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Perform corrective machine adjustments
- Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements
- Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Experience and qualifications
- Education: College/CEGEP
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
- Area of work experience: ISO
- Area of specialization: Quality improvement, Process improvement
- Computer and technology knowledge: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
- Security and safety: Criminal record check
- Work conditions: Fast-paced environment; work under pressure; tight deadlines; attention to detail; standing for extended periods
- Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
- Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication; Organized; Team player
