Overview

CNC/CMM (computer numerically controlled coordinate measuring machine) programmer – On site, St. Catharines, ON.

Employment type: Permanent, Full time. Starts as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Inspect processes
• Set machine or equipment controls
• Collect and analyze data and samples
• Read blueprints and drawings
• Perform corrective machine adjustments
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments
• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
• Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements
• Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments

Experience and qualifications

• Education: College/CEGEP
• Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
• Area of work experience: ISO
• Area of specialization: Quality improvement, Process improvement
• Computer and technology knowledge: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines
• Security and safety: Criminal record check
• Work conditions: Fast-paced environment; work under pressure; tight deadlines; attention to detail; standing for extended periods
• Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
• Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication; Organized; Team player
