Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in Langley, BC is seeking a Material Handler for the PM shift. This full-time role offers hands-on glass handling, crane-assisted loading, strict safety practices, and opportunities to grow within the company.

You will read tags, adjust machines per specs, inspect finished glass, and contribute to a clean, safe work area. Must lift up to 75 lbs, work well in a team, and have reliable transportation in the Gloucester Industrial Park.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 75 lbs consistently throughout shift.
• Enjoys working in a team-based environment with a positive attitude.
• Multitasking capabilities and responsiveness to changing priorities.
• Must have reliable transportation located in Gloucester Industrial Park.
• Mechanical inclined is an asset.
• Basic understanding of English.
• Prefer one or more years of metal, granite, stone or glass fabrication experience.
• Prefer Crane certification; will provide training as required.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading glass using crane and/or manual lifting.
• Ensure proper reading of tags for glass selection and review specifications for machine adjustments.
• Sort and load glass onto equipment for completion while maintaining all safety policies and procedures.
• Responsible for proper disposal of broken glass and general housekeeping within the department.
• Inspect finished product for dimensions, quality finish and thickness and reject not within acceptable quality tolerance level.
• Encompass best practices in all aspects of safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Become part of the team by communicating positively with team lead, co-workers, and supervisor.

Job Highlights

• Earn $22.00 per hour or more based on your experience within the industry. Note there is a $2.00 shift premium for all hours worked on this shift.
