What your day will look like:

As the Club Lounge Associate you are an ambassador for the Hotel, as you greet our guests at our Club Lounge. You have the art of the conversation down pat and can strike up a conversation with anyone at any time. You will show case your talents as a Club Lounge Associate and ensure each piece of dining ware is flawless and sparkling and all food at our buffets is fresh and well presented. As a true professional, you love to tell our kitchen about the special limitations that our guests have with their diets. The Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel has been notified of imposters using the Hotel name in an attempt to elicit personal information from job seekers. Recent attempts involve fake LinkedIn profiles set up to appear that persons affiliated with the Hotel are seeking applicants to fill positions. These imposters may use InMail, Gmail or some other platform to contact people regarding “open positions” and have even requested banking information from candidates.

The Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel does not request SIN number, police background checks or banking information from candidates when you apply. Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Possess a professional and friendly demeanor.
• Be well groomed and presentable at all times, ensuring a clean and well-fitted uniform in good repair.
• Demonstrate a warm welcoming greeting upon guest arrival and offer warm and sincere closing and appreciation upon guest departure.
• Initiate conversation and engagement with guests in order to establish a connection that will leave an impression.
• Be proactive in offering recommendations for local restaurants, attractions, and activities.
• Ensure station and table set-ups are complete before and throughout service.
• Set up and manage buffet during breakfast and appetizer service periods.
• Receive occasional guest orders for special food requests and communicate with kitchen and In Room Dining teams for preparation and delivery.
• Know food allergens and dietary restrictions and communicate with kitchen to ensure guests are provided food which is safe for their consumption.
• Know and adhere to food safety standards.
• Receive drink orders and receive payments using POS system.
• Recommend and prepare basic drinks such as highballs, beer, and wine.
• Assist with some Stewarding duties

Club Lounge attendants will also attend to service in the hotel associate dining lounge, attendants are expected to work a minimum of one shift per week in the associate lounge.

ASSOCIATE LOUNGE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for all hotel staff.
• Set up and maintain buffet during lunch or dinner service periods.
• Communicate with Main Kitchen to order more food throughout service.
• Collect food from Main Kitchen and replenish buffet in a timely manner.
• Manage coffee and juice service machines, providing regular cleaning and restocking.
• Track volume and sales, and report details of service in a daily report to leadership.
• Maintain a tidy environment, sanitizing all surfaces regularly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be available to start as early as 5am and work as late as 11pm.
• Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work all shifts.
• Must be available on evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Must be friendly and enthusiastic, with a passion for hospitality.
• Must be committed to going above and beyond in order to enhance the guest experience.
• Must be self-directed and comfortable working alone, in addition to working cohesively with a team.
• Must be fluent in English, a second language is an asset.
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with InfoGenesis/Agilysys or POS systems is an asset.
• Experience with property management software programs such as Lightspeed or Opera is an asset.
• Must possess basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with Microsoft Word or Excel is an asset.
• Must have Serving it Right Certification.
• Food Safe Certificate is an asset.
• Previous Food & Beverage experience in a high-volume establishment is an asset.
• Previous Concierge or Front Office experience is an asset.
• Previous VIP Services experience is an asset.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 12 hours in length and be able to lift up to 30lbs on a regular and continuing basis and 50lbs occasionally.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada. Valid Work or Study Permits – 1 Year Minimum Validity.

$24.80-$27.55 per hour
