Job summary

iA Financial Group is seeking a Cloud Technology Designer with a FinOps focus to design high-performing, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions. You will support delivery teams and cloud consumers in cost understanding and continuous optimization.

The role emphasizes FinOps in a hybrid environment, with collaboration across Canada and strong English/French language requirements. You will contribute to automated infrastructure pipelines and cloud cost governance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in information technology, with at least 2 years designing cloud solutions.
  • Beginner level English proficiency for reading, writing documentation, and monthly cross‑Canada communication.
  • Advanced level French proficiency, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize selection, operation, performance, and costs of cloud services and design cost-aware solutions.
  • Lead technically within the delivery team and contribute to automated infrastructure pipelines.
  • Collaborate with analysts and architects to define solutions considering constraints and cloud best practices.
  • Help cloud consumers understand usage, analyze trends, and provide actionable optimization recommendations.
  • Advance FinOps practices by promoting cost transparency, governance, and budget forecasting.

As a Cloud Technology Designer (FinOps focus), you will play a key role in designing high-performing, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions, while supporting delivery teams and cloud consumers in their technology choices, cost understanding, and continuous optimization efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide your technical expertise to optimize the selection, operation, performance, and costs of cloud services by recommending and designing solutions aligned with business needs, technology standards, and financial efficiency.
  • Act as a technical leader within the delivery team, participate in deployment activities to ensure solution integrity, and contribute to the implementation of complex components using automated infrastructure pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts and architects from the requirements‑gathering phase to define appropriate solutions, taking into account constraints, system capabilities, and cloud best practices.
  • Support cloud consumers in understanding their usage, analyze trends, identify optimization opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to improve the performance and value of cloud environments.
  • Contribute to the implementation and evolution of FinOps practices by promoting cost transparency, governance, budget forecasting, and continuous improvement, while developing automations and optimizations that enhance adoption, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Recognized for ability to analyze cloud data and strong mastery of FinOps practices, particularly in cost visibility, allocation, and continuous optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex topics and support and influence multidisciplinary teams.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, CaaS – Azure, AWS), infrastructure as code practices, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Collaborative mindset, DevOps approach, strong command of Agile methodologies (SAFe, SDLC), and understanding of infrastructure challenges (network, databases, security).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology, including at least 2 years in designing cloud solutions, and a DEC or bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, information systems, computer or software engineering, mathematics, or a similar field.
  • Beginner level English proficiency for reading, writing documentation, and communicating by phone with internal partners and collaborators across Canada on a monthly basis.
  • Advanced level French proficiency, both spoken and written.
