Position Overview:

We're seeking an Infrastructure/Platform Engineer to build and maintain our cloud platform powered by Kubernetes and AWS. You'll design scalable, secure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), supporting petabyte-scale data processing and complex Kubernetes deployments.

Your role requires deep Kubernetes expertise, advanced AWS skills, and the ability to architect innovative solutions that transform infrastructure into a strategic technological platform. We need an engineer who can solve complex challenges, collaborate effectively with development teams, and enable cutting-edge application delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, secure Kubernetes on Azure or AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Optimize infrastructure for high availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness across petabyte-scale data processing environments.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to ensure robust platform support for complex application requirements.
• Drive the development and optimization of internal platform tooling and engineering workflows.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure challenges, providing innovative and reliable solutions.
• Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure design, architecture, and operational specifications.
• Design alerting and operational frameworks for monitoring data quality and customer facing metrics.

Desired Qualifications:

• 3+ years of recent experience in AWS, Azure or GCP Infrastructure and/or SRE roles. Applicable Associate or Professional AWS certificates are a plus.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Pulumi or Terraform, or CloudFormation. Strong python experience is required.
• Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters, with expertise in deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications across complex environments.
• Possesses strong opinions on the three pillars of observability in cloud environments.
• Experience in using modern cloud native observability tools such as Prometheus, AlertManager, OTEL and Grafana.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in a high-performance environment.
• The ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with orchestration like Dagster, Prefect, Airflow or Temporal is a plus.
• Knowledge of big data tools and environments, including Apache Spark and other frameworks is a plus.
