Overview

Gallagher is recruiting a Security Architect to join our global security architecture and engineering team, with locations in the US and APAC regions.

The primary goal of this role is to serve as a key technical resource within the Global Cyber and Information Security (GCIS) organization.

The Security Architect will develop security architecture frameworks, design patterns, standards, reference architectures, best practices, and technical specifications. This role involves close collaboration with other Information Security teams, IT & Infrastructure organizations, and Business units worldwide to provide security architecture guidance and recommendations.

How you'll make an impact

• Define and develop Information Security architectural standards, artifacts, design patterns, and technical specifications.
• Assess, monitor, and recommend improvements to enhance the global security architecture, mitigate risks, and balance costs.
• Oversee and consult with project teams to ensure adherence to security design patterns and best practices.
• Design solutions that align business requirements with information security needs.
• Identify technical and architectural risks proactively, providing comments and alternatives for improvement.
• Lead evaluations of security technologies, participate in proof-of-concept testing, and analyze proposed solutions in depth.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall security design.
• Partner with infrastructure, network, application, and business teams to ensure solutions comply with GCIS policies and standards.
• Assist with risk mitigation and governance activities related to security architecture compliance.
• Build architectural designs and documentation, and periodically assist with security configurations on solutions.

About you

• Experience in cybersecurity, preferably within the Insurance or financial services industry.
• Proven experience in documenting reference architectures, standards, and position papers.
• Experience working in a regulated, globally distributed environment.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Extensive knowledge of networking, firewalls, endpoint protection, Identity and Access Management, and data protection.
• Knowledge of cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) offerings is advantageous.
• Experience implementing security standards frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CSA CCM, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
