We are looking for a hands-on, technically driven *Operations Engineer* to join our Nisku-based operations team. This role plays a central part in executing engineering changes, supporting product reliability improvements, and directly interfacing with service teams on the shop floor. As the engineering point of contact in the service environment, you will work closely with technicians during teardowns and tool servicing to understand real-world performance, validate design intent, and drive continuous improvement.This is not just a desk role?it?s embedded in our service environment, with the expectation that you?ll *engage directly with returned incident tools, lead root cause reviews, and help translate field insights into lasting engineering fixes.*_*Key Responsibilities*_*Engineering Change Management** Drive the full lifecycle of *engineering changes (ECOs/ECNs)*, coordinating with design, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure successful and timely implementation.* Maintain a *strict ledger* of all engineering changes and revisions, including status tracking, affected assemblies, ownership, and rollout stage.* Provide *routine status reporting* to the engineering team, highlighting blockers, completed changes, and observed downstream effects.*Service Engagement & Tool Teardowns** *Actively engage with service technicians* on the floor to inspect returned tools, participate in teardowns, and validate failure modes.* Support the development of *best-practice servicing procedures*, working closely with techs to document steps, critical checks, and proper handling of components.* Help *earn and maintain trust on the shop floor* by being present, responsive, and hands-on when support is needed.*Documentation & Technical Ownership** Own and update the *service manual*, ensuring it reflects the latest approved changes, design revisions, and servicing insights.* Propose and execute *minor drawing updates* (e.g., tolerances, notes, service-level callouts), with review/approval from design engineers.* Ensure captured failure and service data leads to meaningful updates in manuals, tooling, or design intent documentation.*Effectiveness Monitoring** Track the *real-world effectiveness of engineering changes* using service records, failure frequency, and reliability metrics.* Recommend *which data points should be captured* in service reports to inform future design or process decisions.* Help drive a *feedback loop between field tools and engineering*, closing the gap between design intent and operational reality._*Qualifications*_*Required:** Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering?or equivalent experience* 2+ years of experience in an operations, service, or manufacturing engineering setting* Proficient with SolidWorks and familiar with engineering documentation standards* Able to interpret complex mechanical assemblies and work shoulder-to-shoulder with service technicians* Highly organized and able to maintain detailed change logs and documentation controls*Preferred:** Experience in oilfield tools, downhole tools, or related mechanical systems* Familiarity with service report analysis and reliability engineering metrics (MTBF, failure rate trends)* Experience updating or authoring technical service documentation* Experience in root cause and failure analysis methodsJob Type: Full-timePay: $100,000.00-$160,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Dental care* Extended health careWork Location: In person
