With a long history of keeping roads safe and giving back in ways that build stronger communities, we offer a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding careers that move BC forward.

We are currently hiring a Cloud Infrastructure and Automation Engineer based in our Head Office .

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (2 Days On Site / 3 Days Remote). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.

As a Cloud Infrastructure and Automation Engineer , you’ll play a critical role in designing, building, and optimizing cloud infrastructure that powers our core operations. You'll leverage your advanced experience in AWS, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation frameworks, and Microsoft identity solutions to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available systems. You'll work cross-functionally with security, platform, and DevOps teams to modernize legacy systems, enforce best practices, and implement solutions that reduce technical debt and elevate operational resilience.

This is a high-impact role for a collaborative infrastructure expert who thrives on automation, documentation, and proactively driving system improvement.

Who you are:

  • You’re an experienced infrastructure professional with deep technical skills in AWS, Windows environments, and infrastructure-as-code.

  • You thrive in cloud-first environments and enjoy building scalable, secure ecosystems that integrate seamlessly across systems.

  • You’re proactive and automation-driven—always looking for opportunities to streamline workflows and improve system reliability.

  • You have strong documentation and mentorship skills, and believe in sharing knowledge to elevate team effectiveness.

  • You bring strong collaboration skills and a security-first mindset to everything you build.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and optimize cloud environments across AWS and Azure, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient architecture.

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.

  • Implement and manage cloud services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and CloudFormation.

  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment, configuration, and patching.

  • Administer and enhance Microsoft identity platforms, including Azure AD (Entra ID), Enterprise Apps, SSO, and OIDC integrations.

  • Manage and support Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and hybrid Windows environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI.

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance, hardening, and encryption standards.

  • Perform system monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure cloud workloads remain available and performant.

  • Document procedures, architecture designs, and operational runbooks to support team knowledge sharing and continuity.

  • Mentor teammates and contribute to building a collaborative, technically strong team culture.

What you bring :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a strong focus on cloud technologies.

  • Advanced expertise in AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation), with Azure as a bonus.

  • Strong Windows system administration background, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PKI.

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform.

  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef.

  • Proficient scripting skills in PowerShell and/or other automation languages.

  • Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Proven knowledge of IAM, SSO, OIDC, and identity federation concepts.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and communicate complex ideas effectively.

  • Passion for automation, scalability, and knowledge sharing.

  • Bonus Skills!

  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

  • Azure identity or security certifications.

Internal Applicants: Please note that the internal posting closes on May 8th , 202 5 , and the role is a Grade 15 position.
