Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking an Associate Director, Cloud FinOps Manager to own the financial operating model for our cloud infrastructure in Toronto. This role is a ground-up cost optimization leader, partnering with engineering and finance to design governance, forecasting, and cost-reduction strategies.

You will drive negotiations with cloud vendors, build data-driven business cases, and champion cost ownership across teams. 7+ years in Cloud FinOps and AWS expertise are required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Cloud FinOps or Cloud Financial Management.
• Deep AWS cost knowledge: Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot, and CUR.
• Strong data-driven financial modeling and dashboards.
• Ability to influence engineering and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own governance model for cloud spend.
• Lead company-wide cost-optimization program with engineering teams.
• Negotiate large cloud contracts and right-size commitments.
• Build forecasting models with Tech and Finance to reduce volatility.
• Develop showback/chargeback models to drive cost ownership.
