Overview:
The Cyber and Intelligence Solutions (C&I) team is responsible for product management and innovative product development to address the evolving risk & cybersecurity needs of all of Mastercard’s customer segments. The C&I team was established to safeguard all aspects of safety and security in payments, making significant strides with new products, services, and standards, positively impacting the current and future payment eco-system.

About Ekata:
Ekata, a Mastercard company, is the global standard in identity verification, providing businesses worldwide the ability to link any digital transaction to the human behind it. Our Ekata Identity Engine, the first and only of its kind, uses complex machine learning to combine features derived from billions of transactions within our proprietary network and data from our graph to deliver industry-leading risk assessment solutions.

Role:
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will manage our production environment, ensuring a highly available and scalable platform for Ekata to serve our customers. You will support engineering teams by diagnosing production issues, providing guidance on improving application availability and performance, and developing systems, automation, and tools to facilitate fast, automated, and reliable service deployment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Build, scale, and support high-availability Ubuntu Linux production and development systems in a public cloud environment.
  2. Utilize tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Argo CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, Resource Manager, and others to implement Infrastructure as Code.
  3. Manage and enhance security and availability monitoring for all services, ensuring consistent implementation of security policies.
  4. Deploy workloads across multiple cloud environments with proven experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP core services.
  5. Understand and build Kubernetes clusters from scratch if needed.
  6. Implement load balancing, service mesh, and continuously seek ways to improve uptime and availability.
  7. Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems managed by the Infrastructure team.
  8. Use monitoring tools, like Prometheus, to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  9. Assist other teams with troubleshooting and resolving failures and performance issues; participate in on-call rotations.
  10. Develop custom tools with Go, Python, Rust, or Bash, and advocate for industry best practices in coding.
  11. Possess a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and routing.

Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent spoken and written English skills; a collaborative team player.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Linux/UNIX systems and related protocols/software.
  • Experience with provisioning tools like Ansible, Chef, Terraform.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
  • Programming skills in Go, Python, Bash.
  • Knowledge of database systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Mesos, or Docker Swarm.
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
